I live on top of a small mountain in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. I have had about 2.5-3′ of snow for weeks now & my snow will last until late April if I am lucky or sometime in May if I am not. The wind blows here a lot & the scenery is breathtaking. Newark is often called God’s country, the joke being no one else would want to live here. But in reality I think it is because you can’t help but feel closer to Nature & the Divine when entering places like here. I see clients regularly @ my cottage in Newark & many of them consider the long drive to my home; through luscious countryside to be part of the journey-like a pilgrimage.
Pilgrimage means spiritual journey.
When people choose to come to my house whether for a Psychic Reading, Spirit Communication or for Healing work they are making a commitment to themselves. I know that they have decided to invest in themselves. I do not think I own this, or that this only happens with me…but more that when someone chooses to explore themselves & expand their knowledge of soul they have begun a Pilgrimage. The journey is part of the outcome, in fact I often think it is the most exciting bits. The moment we step out and admit we are seeking to know ourselves better we open the door of possibility & that allows magic to happen.
I see magic when I look out my window…this is my view from my warm window seat. The Birches in my backyard have bent from the ice and snow. They will survive, although remain bent. I can’t help but to love the non-uniformed look of forest left to nature….wilderness. The wild, untamed freedom & pure power of weather is also something magical. I was amazed today to witness spirit infused wind spinning sideways. It is common when you live in such locations as mine to see sylph or tiny cyclones spinning dust or snow in the fields. But today the wind was spinning the air sideways instead of upward. This is the everyday magic we are exposed to, the fabulous little events of nature that just leave one in awe. These sights, the land of my home they are part of the work I do. I always feel like I give people a little something more when they come to my home for Spiritual work. What I give them is this land and the pilgrimage of getting here.
So if you are seeking yourself do not forget the journey. Remember that the road there is part of the experience. You can’t help but think deep thoughts when you are heading out on such a journey. This triggered awareness is a wonderful thing, often undervalued. Plus you just may be exposed to beautiful things; things of magic, along the way.
